Job summary

The City of Charlotte is seeking an Inventory & Warehouse Supervisor for the Charlotte Water Department to supervise four warehouses and four Inventory and Warehouse Coordinators.

You will oversee the procurement, receipt, storage, issuance, and distribution of parts, supplies, safety equipment, uniforms, tools, lubricants, and other materials required for water and sewer repairs and daily Field Operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with at least 5 years of related experience.
• Valid NC or SC driver's license with ability to obtain a City driving permit.
• Experience in inventory management in a warehouse environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure timely delivery of Field Operations inventory and monitor daily inventory levels.
• Manage the water inventory account and coordinate the ordering of water parts and supplies for Field Operations.
• Oversee master inventory part records and verify daily transactions and stock movements in Cityworks Storeroom.
• Direct daily workflow of zone stockrooms and ensure staff understand duties and responsibilities.
• Develop and manage weekly standby schedules and maintain staffing levels across all stockrooms.
• Oversee water part/vendor contracts including uniform purchases and rentals; lead inventory counts.
• Coordinate with Procurement on RFPs/ITBs and vendor selection; support compliance.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and prepare timely reports; monitor expenditures.
