Job summary

Boston University Advancement is seeking an Associate Director of Internal Communications to lead the division's internal communications program. You will help shape information flow, culture, and engagement across staff by developing strategy, managing content calendars, and coordinating executive communications with the Managing Director.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
• At least three years of professional experience in internal communications, corporate communications, employee communications, marketing, journalism, public relations, or a related field.
• Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills, with the ability to translate complex information into clear, engaging communications
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, competing priorities, and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience developing and managing communications across digital platforms and content management systems.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and project management skills with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Develop and evolve Advancement's internal communications strategy and program to promote timely, transparent, and engaging communication across the division.
• Maintain a strategic communications calendar and editorial governance standards for voice, tone, and messaging across channels.
• Monitor and adopt new tools and platforms to improve reach, consistency, and staff experience.
• Create reusable messaging frameworks, templates, and resources to improve efficiency and quality.
• Measure effectiveness through analytics, feedback, and engagement metrics to drive continuous improvement.
• Lead planning, development, and management of internal content across channels, including Staff Hub and division-wide newsletters.
