Job summary
Boston University seeks an Executive Director of Institutional Communications to lead the university’s institutional communications strategy and advise senior leadership on messaging, change management, and campus engagement. You will oversee a team of three professionals and collaborate with the Provost’s Office to align strategic communications across schools and units.
You will guide communications during periods of transition, develop messaging frameworks, and promote transparency and trust
Qualifications
- Ten+ years of progressive leadership experience in internal, corporate, or strategic communications.
- Demonstrated experience advising senior executives and leading executive messaging.
- Proven success guiding communications through organizational change.
Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of three communications professionals.
- Advise university leadership and Provost on messaging and strategy.
- Develop and implement communication plans for major institutional initiatives.
- Build governance standards for internal channels and tone.
- Align internal messaging with external positioning across the institution.
- Partner with teams across External Affairs and campus units to ensure transparency and trust.
