Jeanne D’Arc Credit Union is seeking an Internal Auditor to perform independent audits and reviews of operations, controls, and regulatory compliance. The role requires strong analytical ability, objective judgment, and collaboration with management to improve governance and risk management.

Responsibilities include developing risk-based audit plans, conducting diverse audits (operational, IT, lending), and drafting clear reports with actionable recommendations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, risk management, information systems, or related field preferred.
• Two or more years of experience in internal audit, compliance, risk management, accounting, or financial services preferred.
• Experience in a credit union, bank, or financial services environment preferred.
• Professional certification such as CIA or Certified Credit Union Internal Auditor preferred or may be pursued after hire.
• Equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.

Responsabilités

• Develop, execute, and support a risk-based internal audit plan evaluating key credit union operations, internal controls, compliance, and risk exposures.
• Perform operational, financial, compliance, lending, information technology, vendor management, branch operations, and other audits as assigned.
• Assess the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls, policies, procedures, segregation of duties, approvals, system access, reporting, and oversight practices.
• Conduct audit fieldwork with interviews, walkthroughs, sampling, testing, documentation review, data analysis, and control validation.
• Prepare audit workpapers and draft reports documenting procedures, evidence, conclusions, and findings.
• Communicate audit results to management professionally and track remediation actions.
