Job summary

JPMorgan Chase is seeking an Executive Director in Insurance Risk Oversight within Business Banking Risk. You will lead second-line governance for Insurance activities, shape monitoring routines, and drive transparent reporting to identify and govern material risks.

You will partner with cross-functional teams and influence senior stakeholders across a large, matrixed organization. The role requires strong judgment, executive presence, and the ability to operate independently.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in governance, oversight, controls, risk management within financial services.
• Experience building governance/oversight frameworks and monitoring programs.
• Senior individual contributor with influence without authority.
• Ability to navigate ambiguity and deliver credible challenge.
• Track record of influencing senior stakeholders across large organizations.
• Executive communication skills across written, verbal, presentations.
• Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills.
• Sound judgment and professionalism in dynamic environments.
• Experience in governance routines and issue governance.
• Proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Lead second-line oversight for Business Banking Insurance activities.
• Oversee carrier relationships and third-party arrangements.
• Design and maintain risk indicators and monitoring routines.
• Establish reporting frameworks, escalation criteria, and governance forums.
• Drive issue-management practices and remediation governance.
• Advance governance capabilities to support growth and evolving risk profiles.
• Set clear risk expectations for emerging products and fraud risk initiatives.
• Provide credible challenge and independent perspective on complex initiatives.
• Partner with Product, Operations, Technology, Legal, Compliance, Controls, and business stakeholders.
• Represent Business Banking Risk in governance forums, regulatory engagements, audits, and independent reviews.
• Translate complex risk and control topics into pragmatic, scalable actions.
