Job summary

JPMorgan Chase is seeking a Vice President on the Insurance team within Risk Management and Compliance. You will make and support credit decisions for a diverse insurance portfolio, manage exposure to insurance companies and related financial institutions, and lead risk assessment with cross-functional teamwork across the firm.

The role demands deep knowledge of insurance credit analysis, GAAP/statutory accounting, and strong communication with bankers, legal, and finance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required.
• 7+ years of credit risk experience within a bank or financial services entity.
• Highly proficient in insurance company credit analysis.
• Knowledge of GAAP and statutory accounting and financial statement analysis.
• Deep understanding of financial products, corporate finance and market dynamics.
• Experience negotiating loan and trading documentation.
• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills; client interaction.
• Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint and Word.

Responsibilities

• Manage exposure to a client base consisting of North American Life, Property & Casualty, Reinsurance, Brokers and related financial institutions.
• Lead due diligence and risk grading of portfolio; evaluate and action credit requests and ongoing monitoring.
• Demonstrate sound credit judgement and risk monitoring across lines of business and credit teams.
• Manage daily risk demands of portfolio, evaluating and executing transactions for insurers and similar institutions.
• Oversee transaction execution: client analysis, credit materials, negotiations, credit facilities setup and monitoring.
• Maintain strong relationships with colleagues across the firm and with bankers, legal and finance.
• Monitor clients and inform stakeholders of developments affecting credit ratings.
• Stay informed on evolving economic, regulatory environment affecting insurance sector.
• Provide leadership and contribute to process improvements; mentor junior officers.
