Job summary

After School Matters, a Chicago-based nonprofit, seeks an Institutional Giving Manager to grow and sustain partnerships with corporate, foundation, and government funders. You will lead grant development, budgeting with Finance, and timely reporting to funders, while supervising the Grant Writer and aligning with the Development team.

You’ll cultivate relationships, manage a calendar of deadlines, and ensure high-quality submissions across programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Minimum 4 years of experience working with local, regional, and national foundations and shepherding proposals through to completion.
• 1+ years of supervisory experience preferred.
• Experience preparing and securing government grant funding from local, state, and national sources preferred.
• Excellent Microsoft Office skills required.
• Raiser’s Edge (ASM’s CRM) experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead prospecting efforts to identify, research, and qualify new institutional funders; write, manage, and steward all grants.
• Develop and maintain a strong pipeline of prospective institutional funders and track opportunities.
• Work with Finance to prepare/edit budgets for submissions and reports.
• Maintain regular contact with donors for cultivation and stewardship; organize site visits.
• Oversee internal grant systems, deadlines, and deliverables; guide colleagues in usage.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure high-quality deliverables.
• Input and maintain donor information in Raiser’s Edge; ensure records are current.
• Advise on revenue projections based on opportunities.
• Supervise the Grant Writer and ensure timely completion of proposals and reports.
