Job summary

After School Matters in Chicago is seeking an Institutional Giving Manager to grow and sustain our portfolio of corporate, foundation, and government funders. You will lead grant development, manage deadlines, and coordinate with Finance to align budgets with proposals and reporting requirements.

Reporting to the Director of Institutional Giving, you will supervise the Grant Writer, cultivate donor relationships, maintain grant timelines, and ensure timely, high‑quality submissions and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or equivalent degree required.
• Minimum 4 years of experience with foundations and shepherding proposals.
• 1+ years supervisory experience preferred.
• Experience securing government grant funding preferred.
• Excellent Microsoft Office; Raiser's Edge experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead prospecting to identify and qualify new institutional funders.
• Develop and maintain a strong pipeline of funders and opportunities.
• Prepare/edit budgets for submissions and reports with Finance.
• Maintain regular donor contact for cultivation and stewardship.
• Oversee grant systems, calendars, deadlines and deliverables.
• Coordinate with internal teams to ensure high-quality outputs.
• Supervise the Grant Writer and review grant materials for quality.
