Job summary

Howard University invites applications for an Industry Relations Manager within the Marriott – Sorenson Center. This external-facing role oversees stewardship, donor relations, student engagement and industry partnerships in hospitality and tourism programs on campus.

You will supervise a Program Coordinator, cultivate industry connections, guide program direction, and develop student professional development through sponsors and academic partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in related field; Master’s preferred in hospitality or higher education; 5–7 years in academic support, talent development, recruitment, or related university/corporate setting; hospitality experience and industry connections highly valued.

Responsibilities

• Interface with students to assist academic and career planning in hospitality and tourism.
• Manage program calendar and ensure cohesive student experiences.
• Advise student associations; engage industry partners and sponsors.
• Support donor relations and executive stewardship efforts.
• Monitor program data and report KPIs for decision making.
• Develop professional development opportunities through industry and institutional partners.
