Job summary

Mount St. Mary's University is seeking an Assistant Director of Employer Relations to lead strategic partnerships with employers, alumni and industry partners that expand internships, co-ops, and full-time opportunities for students and graduates.

The role requires relationship-building across Maryland, Pennsylvania, Northern Virginia, and Washington D.C., coordinating career fairs and on-campus recruiting, and collaborating with faculty, alumni engagement, and regional business leaders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Three years of progressive responsible experience in employer relations or related fields.
• Demonstrated success building professional relationships and partnerships.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Strong presentation and public speaking abilities.
• Experience using CRM or recruiting platforms such as Handshake, Salesforce, or similar systems.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel locally and regionally.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement an employer engagement strategy to expand recruitment opportunities.
• Cultivate relationships with new employers across industries and conduct regional visits.
• Coordinate employer registrations for career fairs and on-campus recruitment.
• Represent the university at business events and strengthen employer partnerships.
• Plan and execute career fairs, networking events, and information sessions.
• Collaborate with faculty and alumni offices to connect employers with programs.
• Maintain employer accounts in Handshake and track engagement metrics.
• Prepare annual assessment reports on recruitment outcomes.
