Job summary

Topco Associates in Quincy, MA is seeking an Associate Category Manager to join our Indirect Spend team. This hybrid role is based in our Quincy office three days per week, with the flexibility to work remotely two days per week.

The role focuses on Third Party Supply Distribution, developing sourcing strategies, managing supplier relationships, and delivering value-driven solutions to help our member-owners stay competitive.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Marketing, Finance, or related field or equivalent experience.
• 3-5 years in category management, purchasing, strategic sourcing, or procurement.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with data-driven recommendations.
• Experience negotiating with suppliers and managing relationships.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills with stakeholder influence.
• Strong organizational skills to manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Manage assigned indirect spend categories to support growth, participation, profitability, and supplier performance.
• Develop category strategies, objectives, and action plans aligned with member needs.
• Lead competitive RFPs, supplier negotiations, contract renewals, and reviews.
• Prepare forecasts, analyze market conditions, and recommend sourcing strategies.
• Lead supplier selection, award recommendations, and implementation.
• Identify cost-reduction opportunities and supplier consolidation initiatives.
• Evaluate category performance and identify improvement opportunities.
• Monitor industry trends to inform long-term planning.
