Job summary

Grainger is seeking an Associate Category Manager in Lake Forest, IL, to manage indirect spend and drive sourcing strategies. The role involves leading global procurement, analyzing spend and TCO, negotiating contracts, and coordinating with stakeholders to deliver value across the organization.

You will report to the Manager, Category Manager and work in a hybrid Lake Forest or downtown Chicago setting with occasional travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain or similar field is required.
• Experience with indirect procurement and contract negotiations is expected.
• Demonstrated ability to develop sourcing strategies for sub-categories.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute sourcing plans for sub-categories with spend under management.
• Lead global sourcing, including spend analysis, TCO, negotiations and contract finalization.
• Provide regular updates to stakeholders on project statuses and market changes.
• Monitor supplier trends, benchmark costs and obtain competitive pricing.
• Identify process improvements to increase efficiency and results.
• Execute buying activities for strategic sourcing events and one-off requests.
