Job summary

Walgreens is seeking a procurement professional to implement indirect-spend strategies from identification to delivery, aligning with company cost-reduction goals. The role involves negotiating with suppliers, managing category spend, and ensuring low-cost, high-quality purchases.

You will collaborate with Category Managers and cross-functional teams to develop sourcing plans, run RFIs/RFPs, and monitor supplier performance. Travel up to 10% is expected to support strategic supplier meetings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or GED with relevant experience in Retail, Sales, and/or Category Management or analyzing data.
• Knowledge of the procurement lifecycle and procurement best practices.
• Experience in supplier negotiations and developing/executing sourcing strategies.
• Experience collaborating with internal and external resources to meet goals within budget and timelines.
• Intermediate level Excel skills for analytics and reporting.
• Experience with PowerPoint to support presentations and decision-making.
• Experience with Word for documentation and reporting.
• Willing to travel up to 10% for business purposes (within state and out of state).

Responsibilities

• Manages day-to-day supplier relations and seeks growth opportunities within the spend base.
• Develops and executes category sourcing strategies, RFIs/RFPs, and supplier selection criteria.
• Assists with business plans, performance goals, and metrics for each category.
• Collaborates with Operations, Legal, Supply Chain on cross-functional sourcing opportunities.
• Researches industry trends and best practices to streamline processes.
