Job summary

JM Family Enterprises, Inc. is seeking a Senior Buyer to lead strategic sourcing for indirect spend. You will run supplier selection, RFx events, contract negotiations, and supplier performance reviews to deliver value and meet business objectives.

You will collaborate with Category Managers and internal customers, apply market knowledge, and manage multiple sourcing initiatives in a dynamic environment while ensuring compliance and risk mitigation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
• 5-7 years of progressive sourcing and procurement experience supporting indirect spend categories.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing needs.
• Strong knowledge of the purchase order process.
• Strong understanding of contract compliance and contractual terms.
• Self-starter who can work independently.
• Proven negotiation skills and understanding of price/cost analysis.
• Experience developing, negotiating, and managing MSAs and SOWs.
• Collaborative, team-oriented with internal customers and suppliers.
• Strong analytical skills to interpret data and market trends.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to create and deliver presentations to all levels.
• Organizational, time management, and planning skills.
• Identify supply risks early and support cost-saving initiatives.
• Hands-on with SAP Ariba, Coupa, or similar source-to-pay systems; adapt to new tech.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft 365 apps (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• CPM/CPSM certification preferred.
• Experience leveraging AI tools to support scope development and procurement.

Responsibilities

• Develop category expertise through market analysis with internal SMEs.
• Conduct market research to identify and evaluate potential suppliers.
• Design, manage, and control RFx processes and lead sourcing and selection.
• Review supplier performance as requested by the business.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to develop scopes of work and requirements.
• Provide first-level contract review for scope and pricing alignment.
• Negotiate and execute agreements, including pricing and terms.
• Maintain and grow supplier relationships to support procurement pipeline.
• Serve as liaison between Legal, Corporate Insurance Services, and business units.
• Drive procurement policy compliance and strategic guidelines.
