Job summary

Scotts Miracle-Gro, in the United States, is seeking an Indirect Procurement Buyer to support sourcing across MRO, office supplies, PPE, facilities, landscaping and utilities. You will execute tactical procurement, run RFQs, negotiate contracts, and manage supplier relationships.

The role emphasizes delivering cost savings, conducting total cost of ownership analyses, and increasing spend under management while collaborating cross-functionally and handling PO-related activities.

Qualifications

• BS or BA in Procurement, Supply Chain or related field.
• 2–3 years of relevant procurement experience.
• Experience with targeted products/services.
• Strong negotiation skills.
• Analytical thinking and data-driven decision making.
• Ability to work cross-functionally.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.

Responsibilities

• Sourcing projects including market analysis, RFQ process, negotiations, contract initiation, and contract management.
• Develop relationships with internal partners and stakeholders to support procurement.
• Drive cost-saving initiatives aligned with company goals.
• Identify and pursue new savings or value-add opportunities.
• Assist in contract renewals and increase spend under management (SUM).
• Participate in internal demand management and collaborate with suppliers to add value.
• Complete analyses supporting projects, outlining opportunity strength and financial impact.
• Determine total cost of ownership for procured products and services.
• Demonstrate bias toward action and ability to work autonomously.
• PO creation, vendor review/approval, and PO reconciliation.
• Lease management and lease reporting in various systems.
• Show urgency when needed and know how to escalate internally.
• Manage catalog vendors and assortment in Ariba.
• Travel as needed.
