Scotts Miracle-Gro is hiring an Indirect Procurement Buyer in Marysville, OH for a hybrid work setup. You will support procurement activities across MRO, office supplies, PPE, facilities management, landscaping and utilities, focusing on cost savings and supplier collaboration.

The role requires 2–3 years in procurement, strong negotiation and communication skills, and a BS/BA in a related field. Expect exposure to RFQ processes, contract management, and spend optimization.

Responsibilities

• Sourcing projects including market analysis, RFQ, negotiations, contract initiation and management.
• Develop strong relationships with internal business partners and stakeholders.
• Drive cost-saving initiatives aligned with company goals.
• Identify and pursue new savings or value-add opportunities.
• Assist in contract renewals and increase Spend Under Management (SUM).
• Participate in internal demand management and collaborate with suppliers for value and improvement.
• Support total cost of ownership analyses for procured goods/services.
• Move autonomously with a bias toward action and ensure timely PO creation and reconciliation.
• Manage catalog vendors and Ariba catalog assortment.
• Travel as needed (limited).

The Indirect Procurement Buyer is responsible for aiding in sourcing activities for various areas of Indirect Procurement which may include MRO, office supplies, PPE, facilities management, Landscaping and utilities.

This Buyer Role will support the team with tactical procurement work and category projects as assigned.

This will be a hybrid based position, located in Marysville, OH.

Key Responsibilities

• Sourcing projects which may include market analysis, RFQ process, negotiations, contract initiation, and contract management.
• Develop strong relationships with internal Business partners and other stakeholders, ensuring that Procurement offers support as needed.
• Help drive cost-saving initiatives to align with company goals
• Identify and gain alignment to pursue new savings or value add opportunities
• Assist in Contract Renewals and help to increase the percentage of Spend Under Management (SUM)
• Participate in internal demand management and partner with suppliers to add value and achieve continuous improvement
• Complete analysis that supports assigned projects assessing industry factors, financial impact, risk and overall business decision, outlining the strength of the opportunity
• Be able to determine total cost of ownership for products and services procured
• Demonstrate a bias toward action and ability to work autonomously
• PO creation, Vendor review/approval, and PO reconciliation as needed
• Lease management and lease reporting in various systems.
• Demonstrate an ability to have a sense of urgency when needed and know how to escape internally when required
• Manage catalog vendors and the assortment provided within Ariba
• Travel as business needs dictate (limited)

Minimum Qualifications

• BS or BA in Procurement, Supply Chain or other business- related field
• 2-3 years' relevant procurement experience
• Business experience with one or more targeted products/services
• Negotiation skills
• Analytical thought process
• Team player with the ability to work cross functionally
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office and GSuite a plus)

Desired Qualifications

• Experience working within Indirect Procurement
• Experience working for a Consumer Packaged Goods company

Compensation

The starting budgeted pay range for this role will generally fall between $70,600.00 - $83,100.00 per year. Scotts will consider various factors in determining the actual pay including your skills, qualifications, experience, and geographical location.

For remote roles where the final candidate resides in Alaska, California, Colorado, Illinois, New York, Oregon or Washington, state required pay thresholds will be factored into base salary.
