Job summary

Ursa Major, a leading aerospace propulsion innovator, seeks an Indirect Buyer II to manage capital equipment and indirect purchases. You will negotiate terms, coordinate PO issuance, and align with Engineering, Manufacturing, Facilities, and Finance to ensure on-time delivery at best total cost of ownership.

The role requires 2–4 years in procurement within a manufacturing setting, strong negotiation skills, and experience with RFIs/RFQs. On-site in Berthoud/Longmont, CO with full-time benefits.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain, preferably in a manufacturing environment (aerospace experience is a plus).
• Experience purchasing capital equipment, indirect materials, and services.
• Strong negotiation and supplier management skills.
• Excellent communication and project management skills.
• Working knowledge of the RFI, RFQ, supplier selection, PO, and supplier management process.

Responsibilities

• Lead sourcing and procurement activities for capital equipment and indirect purchasing requirements.
• Partner with internal stakeholders to understand technical, schedule, budget, and commercial requirements.
• Execute RFIs, RFQs, RFPs; obtain and evaluate supplier proposals and support supplier selection.
• Negotiate pricing, lead times, payment terms, warranties, delivery schedules, and other commercial terms.
• Create, issue, and maintain purchase orders while ensuring purchasing documentation is accurate and complete.
• Coordinate capital equipment purchases from PO placement through delivery, installation, and acceptance.
• Manage indirect commodities, including manufacturing support equipment, facilities supplies and services, office equipment, software and licensing, calibration, PPE and safety equipment.
• Maintain positive supplier relationships and support supplier performance improvement activities.
• Monitor supplier performance, including delivery, responsiveness, pricing, and service levels, and elevate significant performance concerns.
• Support competitive sourcing, cost-savings, and purchasing-consolidation initiatives.
• Resolve supplier issues proactively, including price discrepancies, delayed shipments, or damaged goods.
• Maintain purchasing records and supporting documentation in accordance with company policies and contractual or regulatory requirements.
• Identify cost saving and purchasing consolidation opportunities.
• Proactively communicate updates to stakeholders.
