Job summary

Asset Management Firm in New York City is seeking an experienced Payroll & Accounting Manager to lead payroll operations and related accounting activities for a multi-location workforce. You will ensure accurate payroll processing, maintain regulatory compliance, and support financial reporting while driving process improvements across payroll, compensation, and benefits.

The ideal candidate has 6-7+ years of payroll and compensation accounting experience, strong knowledge of payroll

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business, HR, or related field.
• 6–7+ years in payroll, payroll accounting, compensation accounting, or related areas.
• Experience managing payroll operations for multi-state or multi-entity organizations.
• Strong payroll accounting knowledge including accruals, reconciliations, and reporting.
• Proficiency with payroll systems, HRIS, and financial software; advanced Excel.

Responsibilities

• Oversee end-to-end payroll processing for a multi-location workforce.
• Ensure payroll transactions comply with company policies and regulations.
• Coordinate with external payroll providers and internal stakeholders.
• Maintain payroll schedules, processing timelines, and documentation.
• Prepare payroll journal entries, reconciliations, and analyses.
• Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting requirements.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and tracking employee-related expenses.
• Ensure payroll costs are reflected in financial systems and reports.
