Job summary

Young Women’s Freedom Center in Oakland/Los Angeles seeks a Human Resources & Talent Acquisition Manager to advance our mission through leading recruitment, payroll, onboarding, and benefits across all sites. You will ensure compliant, values-driven hiring and employee lifecycle practices that reflect our justice-centered mission.

The role emphasizes collaboration with managers, Finance, and Operations, with attention to equity and staff development.

Qualifications

Minimum 3 to 5 years of progressive HR experience.
Experience leading full-cycle talent acquisition from sourcing to offers.
Payroll processing experience in a payroll system.
Knowledge of California and federal employment law, wage and hour rules.
Proficiency with HRIS and payroll systems; strong data accuracy.

Responsibilities

Lead full-cycle recruitment for all positions with hiring managers.
Develop recruitment strategies and diverse candidate pipelines.
Screen applications, conduct initial interviews, and provide offers.
Coach hiring teams on equitable evaluation and decision-making.
Prepare offer letters in coordination with HR and Finance; oversee background checks.
Oversee payroll processing, timesheets, and payroll audits; resolve issues.
