Job summary

Veterans Benefits Administration is seeking a Supervisory Program Specialist to lead HR activities, guide staffing and recruitment, and resolve employee issues. This Federal role emphasizes evaluating performance, interviews, and advising leaders on personnel actions.

The position requires supervisory experience, adherence to HR policies, and the ability to manage data-driven processes. It is a full-time, on-site role with potential situational telework and a detailed federal qualification

Qualifications

• At least one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level or higher.
• Specialized experience includes applying and guiding multiple fields of HR rules, regulations, and procedures (Personnel Management, Recruitment and Staffing, Classification, Employee Benefits, Labor Relations).
• Experience providing guidance on staffing, recruitment, and defending agency actions in labor negotiations is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plans work to be accomplished by subordinates, sets and adjusts short and long-range staffing plans to meet mission requirements.
• Evaluates work performance of subordinates; gives advice, counsel, or instructions to employees on work and administrative matters; interviews candidates for positions.
• Hears and resolves complaints from employees, referring grievances to a higher-level supervisor or manager.
• Provides comprehensive HR advice to the Director, Assistant Directors, Division Chiefs, Managers, Supervisors, HR Staff, and employees.
• Conducts data reviews and analyzes data results to identify trends and improve processes.
• Responds to time-sensitive requests (Taskers) from the Director's Office.
