Job summary

MDI | Minnesota Diversified Industries is seeking an experienced HR leader to partner with site leadership on talent strategy, recruiting, retention, and succession planning. You will guide managers in performance management and coaching, ensure legal compliance, and maintain accurate HRIS records.

You will also support compensation, benefits, employee relations, and cross-site HR process improvements while traveling between facilities as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, HR or related field or equivalent experience.
• 5–8 years of progressive HR experience; HR Manager or HRBP preferred.
• PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification preferred.
• Strong knowledge of federal and state employment laws and compliance.
• Experience in manufacturing, nonprofit, social enterprise, or multi-site environments preferred.
• Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
• Travel within state; valid driver’s license required.
• Criminal background check satisfactory; eligible to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Partner with site leadership on HR strategy and talent planning.
• Lead full-cycle recruitment for exempt and non-exempt roles.
• Administer performance management and coaching for managers.
• Ensure compliance with employment laws and accurate recordkeeping.
• Maintain HRIS accuracy and prepare HR reports.
• Support compensation and benefits administration with enterprise HR.
• Manage employee relations, investigations, and unemployment claims.
• Collaborate to improve HR processes and integrations.
• Oversee benefits administration at Repowered and Twin Cities sites.
• Maintain confidentiality and professional standards.
• Travel between facilities as needed.
