Job summary

The University of Maine System is seeking two Human Resources Partner positions to support departments at the University of Maine and University of Maine at Machias. The HR Partner will provide HR generalist support, collaborating with the UM HR team to deliver HR solutions that align with the University’s goals.

This role operates in a fast-paced, unionized environment and requires initiative and collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.
• Minimum of three (3) years of progressive experience in a HR generalist or employee relations role.
• Working knowledge of human resources principles and practices, including employee and labor, performance management, policy interpretation, organizational practices, and applicable employment laws and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Provide HR generalist support to employees, managers, and supervisors within assigned departments.
• Collaborate with UM Human Resources and HR Centers across the UM System to deliver HR solutions aligned with the University's goals.
• Support workforce management, employee relations, and organizational support in a fast-paced, unionized environment.
• Bridge strategy and daily operations to improve HR processes and employee engagement.
