Job summary

Boardwalk Pipelines, LP seeks an HR Business Partner in Houston, TX to act as a strategic partner to the Operations & Engineering team, implementing HR practices aligned with business objectives.

Responsibilities include consulting on talent development, performance management, and workforce planning; guiding managers on policy interpretation and employee relations; managing complex ER issues and investigations; and supporting organizational effectiveness initiatives across the Houston office.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years HR Generalist experience or equivalent
• Working knowledge of multiple HR disciplines
• In depth knowledge of federal and state labor laws
• Strong consulting and coaching skills
• Proactive, solution-oriented mindset with customer service focus
• Self-directed and motivated
• Ability to interface with all levels of the organization
• Proven business acumen
• Project management capabilities

Responsibilities

• Serve as a consultant to management on HR issues such as talent development, performance management, employee relations, leadership development, workforce planning, labor relations, training objectives, and compensation
• Provide day-to-day guidance to front line managers and other employees including coaching, counseling, career development, policy interpretation
• Manage complex employee relations issues and conduct investigations
• Provide project management to department and/or customers in programs related to organizational effectiveness
• Work with leadership to identify process improvements and solutions
• Maintain knowledge of federal and state regulations to ensure compliance
• Organize exit interviews, onboarding, maintain HRIS data, reporting, recruiting and interviewing
• Travel up to 15% of the time
• Support workforce planning for assigned areas
