Job summary

The University of North Carolina Pembroke is seeking a Human Resources Consultant to support Facilities Management. You will provide strategic HR guidance, manage training and development, recruit, and handle performance and disciplinary processes while maintaining confidentiality and partnering with the Office of Human Resources.

Based in the Facilities Management department, you will work with leaders and staff, ensure compliance with OSHR and UNC System policies, and drive initiatives that

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and two years of progressively responsible professional human resources experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
• Experience in recruitment, classification, compensation, policy administration, organizational development, and HR information systems.
• Proficiency with online employment systems, Adobe, Banner HR, and Office 365.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; strong organizational and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a strategic HR partner supporting Facilities Management with expert-level guidance across HR functions.
• Lead training and development initiatives and design customized programs for supervisors and staff.
• Manage full-cycle recruitment, job descriptions, postings, interviews, and onboarding.
• Ensure compliance with policies, OSHR, UNC System rules, and university procedures.
• Oversee employee relations, disciplinary processes, and performance management.
• Maintain confidentiality and collaborate with the Office of Human Resources on personnel matters.
