Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and two years of progressively responsible professional human resources experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
• All degrees must be from appropriately accredited institutions.

Responsibilities

• Manage the university-wide employment functions by interpreting and ensuring compliance with state, UNC System, OSHR, and the University policy and merit based recruitment and selection plan. Establish and revise policy, procedures, and forms as necessary to ensure compliance. Provides initial guidance and ongoing interpretation of applicable laws, policies and procedures for hiring managers and applicants. Approves all offers of employment and prepares appointment letters. Serves as liaison to applicants and potential candidates seeking employment with the university. Oversee recruitment and selection procedures, collects data and reporting for all employees. Seeks guidance on problematic matters the HR Manager and works collaboratively with Classification to reach goals and objectives. Ensures positions are advertised timely. Identify qualified applicants by evaluating qualifications of new hires/promotions to ensure promotional opportunities and priority considerations are provided.
