Job summary

Johnson Controls Federal Systems is hiring a Human Resources Manager for the Grantley Plant in York, PA. This generalist role blends strategic HR partnership with hands-on operations in a unionized, manufacturing setting.

You will lead employee and labor relations, recruiting, onboarding, performance development, HRIS analytics, and special projects to support defense programs globally. Travel and compliance with CBA/DBA/SCA are involved.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
• Minimum 7 years of HR experience; 10+ preferred; manufacturing environment.
• Experience in a unionized setting with labor relations exposure.
• Solid understanding of U.S. employment/labor laws; NLRA a plus.
• Experience with recruiting, onboarding, performance management and engagement initiatives.
• Proficient with HRIS and analytics; comfortable with dashboards and KPIs.

Responsibilities

• Serve as strategic HR partner to leaders; align HR with business goals.
• Provide HR guidance to geographically dispersed teams; ensure local compliance.
• Lead talent engagement, onboarding, career growth and recognition programs.
• Partner with Talent Acquisition to attract and onboard critical talent.
• Use HR data to forecast staffing needs and guide decisions.
• Handle employee relations investigations and coach managers.
• Coordinate labor relations with union to support contract compliance.
• Maintain accurate HRIS records and drive process improvements.
• Ensure compliance with federal/state/local labor laws and CBAs.
• Participate in HR initiatives and global projects; support change efforts.
• Educate and empower managers; provide resources for workforce development.
