Job summary

St. John’s Community Services seeks a Human Resource Manager for our Delaware team in Newark. You will lead HR operations, ensuring policy compliance and superior employee relations while partnering with state directors to meet regulatory needs.

The role includes supervising HR staff, guiding managers, and maintaining an inclusive, professional workplace aligned with SJCS’s mission. Travel up to 50% may be required.

Responsibilities

• Oversees the daily workflow of the HR department.
• Handles discipline and termination of employees per company policy.
• Provides support and guidance to HR generalists, management, and staff for complex issues; may administer routine tasks, accommodations, investigations, and terminations.
• Oversees employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
• Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations; recommends best practices.
• Keeps knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new HR technologies.
• Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains new staff for the department when needed.]
• Performs other duties as assigned.
