Job summary

Hanover College is seeking a strategic HR leader to develop and execute human resources strategy in support of the College’s business plan. You will lead talent acquisition, compensation, payroll, benefits, employee relations, training, equity & inclusion, and policy compliance.

The role requires guiding executive leaders, budgeting, and ensuring compliant, effective HR operations campus-wide, including engagement and development initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or related field.
• Minimum 5–7 years HR leadership experience.
• PHR or SPHR certification preferred.
• Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations.
• Budgeting and accounting knowledge.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to lead and develop staff.
• Proficient with HRIS and talent management systems.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily workflow and service levels of the HR department.
• Develop and implement HR strategy aligned with the College.
• Advise executives on organizational issues and workforce planning.
• Lead recruitment, retention, compensation, benefits and leave programs.
• Coach supervisors on HR matters and policy interpretation.
• Monitor KPIs and provide campus-wide HR reporting.
• Support equity, inclusion initiatives and policy compliance.
• Represent the College in committees and external relations.
