Job summary

Canyon Equities, serving a family of companies, seeks an experienced HR Generalist in the Grand Rapids area to deliver accurate HR services across the organization. You will own talent acquisition, onboarding, payroll, benefits, compliance, and HR systems while ensuring a positive employee experience.

In this role, you will manage full-cycle recruiting, employee relations guidance, payroll processing, benefits administration, HRIS maintenance, and compliance with federal, state, and local laws.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in HR or related field required.
• 4+ years HR experience required.
• HR certification preferred.
• Experience delivering accurate, compliant HR services in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead full-cycle recruiting and onboarding to set new hires up for success.
• Provide guidance on employee relations with discretion and professionalism.
• Process payroll activities including changes, timekeeping, PTO, and deductions with accuracy and compliance.
• Administer benefits and leave programs (FMLA, workers' comp, short-term disability).
• Maintain HRIS records, reporting, and data integrity.
• Coordinate training, development, onboarding, and other employee growth initiatives.
• Support employee engagement through events, communications, and culture programs.
• Prepare workforce analytics and monitor compensation and benefits trends for decisions.
• Continuously improve HR programs, policies, and workflows for efficiency.
