Job summary

Hensel Phelps in Colorado is seeking a Human Resources Generalist to partner with managers, oversee onboarding, employee relations, and HR program administration. You will support recruitment, compensation data, policy implementation, and compliance across the organization, with a focus on accuracy in HRIS data and reporting.

The role requires a Masters and at least 5 years of HR/talent acquisition experience, strong MS Office skills, and the ability to influence outcomes.

Qualifications

• 5 years of job‑related experience as a talent acquisition or recruiting professional, human resources specialist, or human resources generalist
• Knowledge of state and federal laws (COBRA, FLSA, ACA, ADA, OFCCP, ERISA, FMLA, HIPPA, etc.)
• Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
• Must be proactive and be able to work with minimal supervision
• Ability to communicate effectively and deliver presentations regarding potentially controversial issues
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as dictated letters or memoranda, invoices, company policies, legal notices
• Experience working collaboratively with hiring managers
• Must have strong leadership and mentoring skills
• Strong verbal and written communication
• Experience leveraging Applicant Tracking Systems and Human Resource Information Systems
• Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret data and trends
• Passion for human resources with the desire to grow the function from the ground up

Responsibilities

• Assists in measuring the effectiveness of learning and measuring the development efforts of employees
• HRIS Records employee information in the HRIS such as personal data, compensation, benefits, attendance, performance reviews, and termination date
• Audits HRIS system capabilities for accuracy, integrity, utilization, and functionality
• Provides recruitment support for corporate employees and conducts new hire orientation for corporate
• Supports and implements plans, policies, onboarding, and facilitating employee relations
• Maintains confidentiality and handles sensitive information with integrity
