Job summary

City of St. Louis is seeking a Human Resources Manager (Employee Relations) in Downtown St. Louis to plan, direct and manage the Employee Relations section within the Department of Personnel.

You will oversee HR operations, address personnel issues, lead projects, and supervise staff to support citywide priorities. Responsibilities include investigating complaints, facilitating conflict resolution, conducting workplace investigations, advising management on discipline and performance, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business or Public Administration, Psychology, or a related field, plus five years of HR experience including at least three years in employee relations.
• Public sector or governmental experience preferred.
• Experience with FMLA or drug and alcohol programs preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct, and manage the Employee Relations section to meet department goals.
• Investigate employee complaints and conduct workplace investigations.
• Provide guidance on disciplinary actions and performance issues.
• Counsel managers and employees on policies and workplace programs.
• Oversee DAPA, FMLA programs and union-related processes.
• Supervise staff and collaborate with appointing authorities on citywide priorities.
