Job summary

Makita Corporation of America, a leading global power tool manufacturer, seeks a Human Resources Manager to lead HR and EHS programs in Buford, GA. You will ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws while developing HR strategies and overseeing recruitment, payroll, benefits, training, and employee relations.

As a senior HR professional, you will coach managers, manage HRIS data, coordinate safety programs, and drive continuous improvement, partnering with Makita USA and Makita Japan

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business, occupational safety, or a related field; professional HR certification may substitute.
• At least five years of human resources experience, preferably in manufacturing.
• EHS experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
• Solid knowledge of federal and Georgia employment laws and compliance.
• Experience with OSHA regulations and workers’ compensation.

Responsibilities

• Lead development, implementation, and improvement of HR strategies, policies, and programs.
• Oversee recruitment, onboarding, workforce planning, development, and separations.
• Ensure compliance with ADA, FMLA, FLSA and other laws.
• Foster positive employee relations and guide management on HR matters.
• Manage compensation, payroll, and benefits programs for competitiveness and compliance.
• Maintain HRIS, records, and reports for accurate data and decisions.
• Develop and promote training, leadership development, and compliance programs.
• Provide leadership and coaching for HR staff and coordinate with Makita USA and Makita Japan.
• Lead environmental, health, and safety programs to promote a safe workplace.
• Oversee incident investigations, workers’ compensation activities, and corrective actions.
