Makita Corporation of America, a leading producer of high-quality power tools, seeks a Human Resources Manager in Buford, GA. You will manage HR and EHS programs, oversee recruitment, compensation, and benefits, and ensure compliance with ADA, FMLA, FLSA, OSHA, and state laws.

This role partners with Makita USA and Makita Japan. The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree in HR or related field and at least five years in HR, preferably in manufacturing, with strong leadership and confidential

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business, occupational safety, or a related field.
• At least five (5) years of human resources experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• EHS experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Good working knowledge of federal and Georgia employment laws and compliance requirements.
• Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and workers’ compensation.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with management, salaried, and hourly employees.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to explain policies and legal requirements to employees at all levels.
• Ability to keep information confidential and handle sensitive employee matters with good judgment.
• Skill with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook) and HR information systems.

Responsabilités

• Lead development, implementation, and continuous improvement of HR strategies, policies, and programs.
• Oversee recruitment, onboarding, workforce planning, employee development, and separations.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws (ADA, FMLA, FLSA).
• Foster positive employee relations and provide guidance to management on HR matters.
• Manage compensation, payroll, and employee benefits programs.
• Maintain HR information systems, employee records, and HR reports.
• Develop and promote training, leadership development, and compliance programs.
• Provide leadership and development for HR staff and coordinate with Makita USA and Makita Japan.
• Lead environmental, health, and safety programs to promote a safe workplace.
• Manage incident investigations, workers’ compensation activities, and corrective actions.
