Job summary

Doeren Mayhew is seeking an experienced Human Resources Director to lead HR initiatives for our Southeast Region. Based in Orlando, FL, the role partners with firm leadership to align people strategies with business objectives and support employees throughout the employment lifecycle.

The Director will oversee talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, policy implementation and HR compliance, with occasional overnight travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in HR, business, finance, accounting or related field.
• Minimum 10 years of human resources experience.
• PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification preferred.
• Experience developing people strategies and translating them into HR initiatives.
• Strong strategic thinking, project management and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
• Strong organizational and client service skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

Responsibilities

• Partner with regional leadership to assess workforce needs, support workforce planning and job analysis, and maintain current job descriptions.
• Lead recruiting efforts for experienced professionals and collaborate with the Talent Acquisition team on campus recruiting for entry-level positions.
• Oversee performance review processes and guide leaders in setting expectations, addressing performance concerns and supporting employee development.
• Serve as a trusted advisor to leaders and employees on HR policies, total rewards, employee relations and employment separations, providing timely, practical guidance.
• Administer onboarding and orientation, collaborating with Payroll, Benefits, IT and Marketing to support a seamless employee experience.
• Implement HR policies, procedures and practices consistently across the region and ensure compliance with applicable employment requirements.
• Maintain accurate electronic personnel files and HR records while safeguarding confidential employee information.
• Manage offboarding and conduct exit interviews to identify workplace trends and opportunities for continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with the HR team to enhance policies, processes and service delivery in support of business and employee needs.
