Job summary

Appone in Flint, MI is seeking an experienced Human Resources Director to lead our HR function for a multi-area nonprofit. This role partners with the CEO to oversee employee relations, recruitment, compliance, training, performance management, compensation and benefits, and organizational policies.

You will direct day-to-day HR operations, ensure compliance with federal, state, and local requirements, and mentor HR staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources; Master’s degree preferred.
• Nonprofit sector experience is beneficial.
• Leadership experience in HR functions.
• Strong written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
• Excellent organizational and interpersonal abilities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and related applications.
• Ability to work flexible hours as needed.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and implementation of HR policies and procedures.
• Provide guidance on interpretation and application of HR standards.
• Prepare HR reporting and analysis for leadership.
• Oversee recruitment and onboarding processes.
• Manage compensation, benefits, leave, and employee relations.
• Support performance reviews and staff development.
• Maintain knowledge of employment law and best practices.
