Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Nashville, TN is seeking an experienced Director of Human Resources to lead the HR function in support of our ministry goals.

The role oversees talent acquisition, onboarding, compensation/benefits, policy, compliance, and staff development to ensure a values-driven workplace. The ideal candidate will bring strategic HR leadership with a faith-based approach, strong interpersonal skills, and a track record of aligning HR with organizational mission.

Competenze

• Faith-Based Organization Dynamics: church operations, non-profit compliance, biblical workplace principles.
• Strategic HR Management: planning, talent pipelines, organizational development, workforce design.
• Performance Evaluation Methods: understanding of evaluation frameworks and leadership development.
• HRIS and Payroll Technologies: knowledge of HRIS, payroll and MS Office.

Mansioni

• Strategic Leadership: align HR with Mt. Zion’s mission and advise senior leaders.
• Compliance & Risk Management: ensure compliance with laws and church regulations; maintain policy handbooks.
• Talent Acquisition & Onboarding: oversee recruitment for ministry, admin, and operations roles; manage onboarding/offboarding.
• Employee Relations & Culture: foster a healthy, collaborative, spiritually uplifting workplace.
• Compensation & Benefits Administration: design/manage compensation structures and benefits; coordinate with Finance.
• Performance Management & Training: implement evaluation systems and provide professional development.
• Other duties as assigned.

Bachelor’s degree in HR / related field

Master’s degree (MBA/MS in HR/Organizational Leadership)
