Job summary

Par Pacific is seeking an experienced Human Resources Business Partner to support HR initiatives at our Port of Tacoma site. You will partner with leaders and teams to manage day-to-day HR needs, fostering a workplace aligned with our mission of Humbly Serving Communities.

The role includes talent management, compensation & benefits, labor relations, leave administration, performance management, and HR analytics. This is an in-office, 9/80 schedule position with competitive pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in human resource management or related field from accredited university.
• Minimum three years of broad HR generalist experience in a hands-on service model.
• Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local HR laws.
• Experience with ATS, HRIS and payroll systems.
• Ability to handle confidential information discreetly.
• PHR or SHRM-CP certification desirable.

Responsibilities

• Serve as first point of contact for managers and employees on HR matters.
• Oversee recruitment, onboarding, and retention across diverse teams.
• Administer compensation reviews and job descriptions in collaboration with the compensation team.
• Manage benefits inquiries and support compliance with FMLA, leaves.
• Coach supervisors on performance management and employee relations.
• Administer labor relations and union matters per CBA.
• Oversee leave, workers' comp, and compliance with laws.
• Develop HR training programs and maintain HR metrics.
