Job summary

City of Meridian seeks a Sr. Human Resources Generalist to act as an HR Business Partner, delivering recruitment, onboarding, coaching, employee relations, and program leadership. The role improves retention, morale, and policy implementation across departments.

This position also oversees benefits programs, wellness initiatives, and COBRA/FMLA compliance, partnering with Directors and leaders to optimize HR services for City staff.

Qualifications

• Requires Associates degree plus 6–8 years’ HR Generalist experience or equivalent.
• Bachelor’s in HR, Management or Business; PHR/SPHR desirable.
• Strong knowledge of HR practices and record keeping.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and HRIS systems; understands laws.

Responsibilities

• Provide monthly reporting to HR Director and colleagues.
• Deliver onboarding, coaching, and employee relations support.
• Lead HR programs such as benefits and wellness initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with employment laws and City policies.
• Support salary administration and merit processes.
