Job summary

UN Secretariat in New York is seeking an Associate Human Resources Officer to provide HR advice and support to managers and staff within the Common Administrative Platform. You will handle recruitment, onboarding, contract administration, and manage entitlements and benefits in accordance with UN policies.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years of progressive experience in human resources management.
• Experience using SAP/UMOJA for staff administration is mandatory.
• Experience with CRM systems and applying UN common system rules is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive HR advice and support to managers and staff while keeping current with HR developments.
• Manage recruitment processes, including reviewing requests, issuing offers, and coordinating onboarding.
• Prepare and present cases for appointment and promotion bodies and serve on examination boards.
• Oversee HR Assistants in processing personnel actions, onboarding, separations, and contract management.
• Administer and advise on salary, benefits, travel, and entitlements, interpreting policies and regulations.
• Determine staff entitlements based on contractual status and approve entitlements in ERP systems.
• Conduct entitlements monitoring exercises and provide reports.
• Offer induction and orientation to new staff.
• Contribute to HR data collection, analysis, and reporting using data visualization methods.
