Job summary

The Port of Oakland is seeking two Port Human Resource Analysts to join the Employment and Classification team. Under general supervision, you will handle recruitment, examinations, classification, compensation and related HR programs.

This role supports salary surveys, policy development, and personnel relations while maintaining confidential records. Requirements include a bachelor's degree in HR or related field and two years of progressively responsible HR experience at the Port Assistant

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in HR management, business administration, public administration, industrial relations, or related field.
• Two years progressively responsible experience at the level of Port Assistant Human Resource Analyst.
• Knowledge of public personnel administration, recruitment, classification and compensation.
• Understanding of federal and state employment laws and labor relations.

Responsibilities

• Conduct job analyses to classify positions for examination purposes.
• Interviews staff and subject matter experts to gather information for test items.
• Develops and administers examination processes and schedules.
• Performs salary/benefit surveys and analyses for classification decisions.
• Maintains confidential personnel records and assists in policy development.
