Job summary

Hyatt in New York seeks a Director of Human Resources to align associate strategies with operations and service initiatives, reporting to the hotel General Manager. You will lead workforce planning, recruitment, benefits, training, and labor relations across the property, shaping a culture of excellence and accountability.

Responsibilities include developing HR policies, ensuring regulatory compliance, and partnering with Corporate HR to drive Hyatt service standards and associate engagement.

Qualifications

• Experience in New York City is preferred.
• Prior hotel experience with Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).
• 6+ years of progressive Human Resources experience.
• Service oriented style with professional presentation skills.
• Proven leadership skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English.
• Proficient in Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Develop HR strategies and administer HR policies and procedures.
• Strong background in employment, employee relations, benefits, wage and salary, employee training, and government regulations.
• Support staffing and training of associates.
• Conduct needs analyses and develop training programs and materials.
• Instruct managers on employee concerns and regulatory compliance.
• Defend unemployment and Workers' Compensation claims.
• Conduct wage and salary surveys.
• Provide employee counseling as needed.
• Plan employee functions and recognition programs.
• Engage with professional HR organizations and Corporate HR.
• Coach and counsel employees to Hyatt service standards.
