Qualifications

• Bachelor-level degree or equivalent with relevant public safety experience is required.
• Experience in emergency management, safety, or related function preferred.
• 3+ years in an office setting with clerical/technical duties.
• Knowledge of grant writing, GIS and public administration practices.

Responsibilities

• Develops procedures for planning, evaluation and analysis of solution area recommendations.
• Develop and implement homeland security programs aligned with state and federal initiatives.
• Establish and maintain volunteer programs supporting disaster preparedness and response.
• Develops and implements plans, policies, and systems for public information and emergency notifications.
• Interacts with officials to analyze implications of programs and proposals.
• Attends meetings to discuss operations and grant requirements and coordinate responses.
• Researches data, prepares reports, and makes recommendations for solution area proposals.
• Researches and prepares HSGP investments and grant documentation.
• Maintains records and reports budget and grant financial responsibilities.
• Ensures compliance with federal, state and local guidelines.
