Job summary

County of St. Clair is seeking a capable professional to research and provide data supporting Homeland Security efforts.

Your work will include planning, evaluation, and analysis of grant-funded projects, technology purchases, training, and exercises in alignment with federal and state guidance. The role requires strong analytical abilities, knowledge of GIS and Microsoft Office, and the ability to handle confidential information while coordinating with county and regional agencies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree in Business/Public Safety or an Associate Degree with four years of public safety work experience.
  • 1+ years of emergency management, safety or related function preferred.
  • 3+ years of progressively responsible office experience with clerical and technical activities.
  • Knowledge of Emergency Management Program operations and grant writing.

Responsibilities

  • Develop planning, evaluation and analysis procedures for homeland security programs.
  • Implement homeland security programs aligned with local, state and federal initiatives.
  • Establish or maintain volunteer programs supporting disaster preparedness and response.
  • Prepare information plans and notify the public of emergencies.
  • Coordinate with officials to analyze implications of programs and proposals.
  • Manage budgets and grant reporting for Homeland Security initiatives.
