POSITION SUMMARY

Heritage Werks is seeking a Strategic Communications Consultant to join our growing team. In this role, you will lead strategic communications for client anniversaries and heritage initiatives. You will facilitate workshops, consult with senior leaders, and guide clients in leveraging their historical and archival content to support internal engagement and external brand storytelling.

Collaborating with the Creative and Content teams, you will develop tailored communication strategies that bring company heritage to life through digital, print, experiential, and multimedia formats. The ideal candidate is a polished communicator with extensive experience in corporate or internal communications, confident working with senior stakeholders, and skilled at bridging brand and history.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Support and lead anniversary consulting and planning efforts, including strategic planning, advising clients, and facilitating workshops with senior stakeholders across various departments, representing Heritage Werks professionally and credibly.
  • Advise and support clients in effectively leveraging their heritage content across internal and external channels in collaboration with account directors, historians, and team members.
  • Develop tailored recommendations by understanding each client’s internal communications landscape, including audience needs, existing channels, and approval processes.
  • Work with Creative and Content teams to integrate historical narratives with brand storytelling through exhibits, museums, videos, internal communications, and digital content.
  • Collaborate with historians, archivists, and subject matter experts to ensure content and storytelling reflect both the client’s legacy and modern brand identity.
  • Create and write a variety of communication materials such as internal announcements, social media content, event flyers, collateral, and digital signage, following best practices for copywriting and online engagement.
  • Support internal communications by providing copywriting and information for the biweekly company newsletter and other needs.
  • Present and pitch strategies to clients, working with Client Services to develop proposals and guide content decisions throughout projects.
  • Collaborate with the Managing Director of Creative Services, historians, and account directors on account growth and new deliverables, aligned with Creative Department capabilities.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget, maintaining high personal utilization.
  • Stay current on trends in brand anniversaries and heritage activations, contributing to service improvements.

Requirements include:

  • 10+ years of experience in corporate communications or related fields, preferably within a brand marketing or PR agency.
  • Bachelor’s degree in history, liberal arts, marketing, communications, or a related field; advanced degrees are a plus.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to assess client goals and provide creative solutions.
  • Experience leading initiatives and consulting with senior stakeholders.
  • Excellent storytelling, writing, and editing skills across formats.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; familiarity with social media systems and CMS tools is a plus.
  • Experience developing content strategies for diverse audiences.
  • Familiarity with archives, history, museums, or cultural heritage is advantageous.
  • Flexibility, curiosity, patience, and attention to detail.

This is a remote position, ideally based in the Atlanta area, with travel to client sites and Heritage Werks locations. The role offers a competitive salary and benefits, including health insurance, 401k, PTO, professional development, and recognition programs.
