A leading pharmaceutical company seeks a Health Science Advisor to enhance patient care through effective engagement with healthcare providers. The role involves proactive outreach, providing clinical information, and coordinating with cross-functional teams to improve customer experience. This position offers a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits.
Otsuka America Pharmaceutical, Inc. has launched a new customer engagement approach designed to better deliver on patient, caregiver, and HCP expectations in an evolving healthcare environment. The new model is built around where patients receive care—locally—to better serve patients, caregivers, and healthcare providers, delivering a higher quality experience focused on improving patient care.
The "ecosystem approach" creates a unified focus among account management, medical, patient access, and market access to engage local healthcare systems and identify opportunities to improve the patient experience. This matrix model enables customers to experience more coordinated and seamless care with digital support to bridge care gaps.
In Otsuka's evolved customer engagement model, a Health Science Advisor (HSA) engages HCPs through in-person, virtual, and digital tools, providing expanded expertise on products and approved conditions. Otsuka's Clinical and Scientific Specialists (CSS) offer deep clinical expertise on demand, engaging healthcare providers with personalized education on disease states, thought leadership, and real-world evidence.
These ecosystems are led by Ecosystem Leads within regional groups. Regional Leads have autonomy to assess market priorities and customize decisions to meet local needs. Otsuka aims to enhance customer engagement quality, accountability, and cohesion between patients and healthcare providers, centering efforts on the customer.
The Health Science Advisor reports to the Ecosystem Lead and coordinates with cross-functional colleagues in Medical (CSS), Market Access (HSAMs), and Patient Support (PELs), operating within appropriate guardrails. This role serves as the main point of contact for healthcare provider customers and should possess broad expertise, including the ability to handle complex on-label information confidently.
