Job summary

Southern Cancer Center in Daphne, AL seeks an experienced Controller to lead the organization’s financial operations across multiple sites. You will oversee accounting, budgeting, reporting, payroll, and cash management while aligning with executive leadership and corporate partners.

The role requires seven+ years of financial management, GAAP expertise, and strong Excel skills. You will drive strategic planning, risk assessment, and process improvements within a healthcare context.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Minimum of seven (7) years of progressive financial management experience.
• Strong budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and accounting operations.
• Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Demonstrated leadership and supervisory experience.
• Advanced proficiency with financial reporting systems and Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic financial guidance to executive leadership and physician partners.
• Prepare, analyze, and present monthly financial statements, operating results, and key performance indicators.
• Report financial performance, trends, risks, and opportunities to the Executive Director, physician leadership, and Board.
• Present financial information and recommendations during leadership, physician, and Board meetings.
• Lead month-end and year-end closing processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
• Oversee budgeting and financial planning for operating, capital, and cash flow, and monitor performance against targets.
