Job summary

Southern Cancer Center is seeking a strategic Controller to lead the organization's financial operations across multiple sites in Daphne, Alabama. The role partners with executive leadership and physicians to ensure GAAP compliance, robust financial reporting, budgeting, and cash management.

You will oversee accounting, revenue cycle, audits, and internal controls, mentor finance staff, and drive process improvements that support high-quality, cost-effective cancer care.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Minimum seven years of progressive financial management experience.
• Strong budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and accounting operations.
• GAAP knowledge and supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic financial guidance to executive leadership and physician partners.
• Prepare, analyze, and present monthly financial statements, operating results, and KPIs.
• Report financial performance, trends, risks, and opportunities to the Executive Director, physician leadership, and Board.
• Present financial information and recommendations during leadership, physician, and Board meetings.
• Lead month-end and year-end closing processes for timely financial reporting.
• Develop and coordinate annual operating, capital, and cash flow budgets.
• Assist department leaders with budget preparation and forecasting.
• Monitor performance against budget targets and variances.
• Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and support cost-effective healthcare delivery.
• Participate in organizational strategic planning and goal development.
• Oversee revenue cycle processes and internal controls to ensure compliance.
