Job summary

Southern Cancer Center is seeking a strategic Controller to lead financial operations across a multi-site oncology practice. This role reports to the Executive Director and partners with physicians, department managers, and corporate partners to ensure strong financial health and regulatory compliance.

The Controller will oversee accounting operations, budgeting, forecasting, revenue cycle performance, internal controls, payroll coordination, and cash management, driving operational efficiency

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Minimum of seven (7) years of progressive financial management experience.
• Strong experience in budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and accounting operations.
• Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Demonstrated leadership and supervisory experience.
• Advanced proficiency with financial reporting systems and Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic financial guidance to executive leadership and physician partners.
• Prepare, analyze, and present monthly financial statements, operating results, and KPIs.
• Report financial performance, risks, and opportunities to Executive Director, physician leadership, and Board.
• Lead month-end and year-end closing processes for timely and accurate reporting.
• Develop and coordinate annual operating, capital, and cash flow budgets.
• Oversee revenue cycle processes and ensure compliance with policies and internal controls.
• Supervise accounting and finance staff and develop the team.
