Job summary

SMS group is seeking a Corporate Development Manager in Pittsburgh, PA to drive strategic initiatives, oversee acquisitions, and partner with senior leaders to turn plans into action. You will steer cross-functional projects, gather market data, and prepare outcomes for executive review.

You will build relationships with leaders, manage project plans, track milestones, and present insights to influence strategic decisions. Travel up to 25% and a focus on delivering measurable business results.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business management or related field; MBA helpful but not required.
• Engineering experience strongly preferred.
• 3–6 years of related experience in consulting or corporate improvement/strategy.
• Ability to influence change through others without direct reporting.
• Strong strategic thinking and analytical abilities.
• Open to new ideas and can see the big picture.
• Experience with mergers and acquisitions is preferred.
• Strong interpersonal skills and high emotional intelligence.
• Self-motivated, capable of meeting deadlines, and collaborative.
• Advanced presentation and facilitation skills using PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Develop relationships with leaders and executives on cross-functional projects.
• Develop project plans, assign tasks, and monitor milestones.
• Drive corporate improvement initiatives with key stakeholders.
• Provide project status updates to senior leaders.
• Gather market and financial data to support business decisions and M&A targets.
• Use external data for merger and acquisition efforts.
• Lead analysis using data from internal and external sources.
• Create concise leadership presentations and recommendations.
• Organize and lead meetings with clear objectives and conclusions.
• Travel to SMS group locations and client sites up to 25%.
