Job summary

United Ability in Birmingham, AL seeks a dynamic Chief Executive Officer to lead and grow the organization’s services for individuals with disabilities. You will partner with the Board and Executive Team to shape strategy, advocate at multiple levels, and build strong community and donor relationships.

The CEO will oversee operations, ensure fiscal responsibility, and serve as the primary spokesperson to the community, policymakers, and partners.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience and a track record in strategic leadership of an organization.
• Bachelor’s degree required, MBA, MPA, JD or related advanced degree strongly preferred.
• Excellent coalition building and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong financial acumen and governance knowledge.
• Public policy and fundraising experience is highly valued.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership to advance the organization’s mission and impact.
• Collaborate with the Board and executive team to refine the strategic growth plan.
• Cultivate relationships with funders, partners, and community leaders to secure funding.
• Represent the organization to government officials and key stakeholders.
• Oversee operations, risk management, and compliance to ensure organizational success.
